For those who still haven't heard about Smart Grid, GE plans to introduce the concept at the biggest media forum of the year — the Super Bowl. While it'll pitch its own Smart Grid technologies in an ad scheduled to air at the start of the fourth quarter, the campaign should also educate millions of Americans on the concept of overhauling our century-old electric grid.

GE isn't the only NEMA member involved in the annual pigskin celebration. Philips has temporarily illuminated Raymond James Stadium, site of the Cardinal-Steeler contest, in newly designed LED floodlights that dramatically projects light onto the underside of the stadium's upper 30 rows.
