With the demise of corporately owned automotive manufacturing in the United States one wonders how the products offered by the remaining one of the once "Big Three" will appeal to the American consumer. Many pundits in their blogs and editorials have been reporting that they are being inundated with mail from Americans citing their intent to refrain from purchasing any automotive product made by either GM or Chrysler with many indicating if they do buy American at all, Ford would be their choice.

Is it wise for Americans to boycott products made by struggling companies that will be partially sustained by their own tax dollars? Or can it be considered patriotic to do so?
