Smart Grid is the future of energy consumption. It is underway and making strides to become a household name. The end goal is to improve the grid's efficiency, intelligence, and cost, all to help consumers of electricity. Until Smart Grid becomes a household name in America it is still going to be a "techy" term used by electrical companies and industry professionals. NEMA made one step in consumer awareness when Fox News Channel's Shannon Bream interviewed NEMA's Paul Molitor yesterday on "America's HQ" televised live on national television. Paul discussed the basics of Smart Grid technologies a way that the average American consumer could understand. In other words, he made a very difficult subject seem very elementary. It is going to take moments like these to further our nation's goal for energy independence and it starts with consumer education of what is out there. Watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/nemavue
