Building wire industry steps up for proper installation and use of its products

Kudos to the building wire and cable technical committee for taking action over the past several months to publish two new NEMA Engineering Bulletins that are relevant to the growing number of photovoltaic installations. Bulletins 103 and 105 educate contractors on the wiring methods that can be used in PV in addition to those in NEC Article 690, and provide guidance on proper terminating of fine-stranded wire prevalent in these installations. IECEE-CB Scheme Suspends Brazil for Infringement

The Brazilian Committee of Electricity, Electronics, Lighting and Telecommunication (COBEI) is temporally suspended from the IECEE CB Scheme.  The suspension includes Brazil’s national certification bodies—TÜV Rheinland do Brasil Ltda, Division UCIEE and NCC Certificações do Brasil; and associated testing laboratories.  In reporting the incident to IECEE Members, the IECEE Executive Secretary, Mr. Pierre de Ruvo, stated that the basis for suspension was for Read more [...]
