Kudos to the ICAO: Portable fuel cells to be allowed on planes!

Did you ever wish that one day you could take an overseas flight and not have to even think about your laptop battery dying on you?  Your wish is granted!  Well, effective worldwide January 1, 2009 it's granted, thanks to a recent International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) ruling permitting the transporting of micro fuel cell systems to power electronic equipment in carry-on baggage, as reported in a Science Direct article.

The ICAO should be applauded for this ruling!   We frequent travelers welcome the prospect that soon we can work on our laptops without losing juice when we really need it.  I'm hoping the micro fuel cell folks can help make our laptops lighter one day too!
