Nanotechnology for NEMA member product industries closer than you might think

TC 113 U.S. Technical Advisory Group Chair Dr. Brent Segal, Lockheed Martin Corp., tells me that there are 2 camps when it comes to nanotechnology advancement; those that think nano is 10 years away, and those that have already been producing nano-enabled products for 10 years.  A new IEC Technical Specification for large scale manufacturing of nanoelectronics, to be developed jointly between IEC TC 113 and IEEE and slated for completion in the fall of 2010, will help advance nano-based value added products by defining standardized processes for incorporating nanomaterials into products with new properties and performance enabled by those nanomaterials. It's time for NEMA members in the former camp to be forward thinking and jump on board.
