Rev 1-2009 Version of ANSI/MW 1000-2008 a Must
Companies that use
ANSI/MW 1000-2008 to specify their magnet wire requirements need to make sure
they have the latest release of the standard, ANSI/NEMA MW 1000-2008
Revision 1-2009, released on December 17, 2009. If they don't, they
are missing substantive
changes that took place to several test procedures that better define the
equipment, materials, or test conditions that these procedures specify. They
also would not have important amendments to the bond strength, transformer oil
resistance and high voltage continuity tests. A new table of standard
rectangular wire requirements and new Appendix E
covering “General Rules for Rectangular Wire Dimensions” are also featured.
Users of the standard should order a copy of Rev 1-2009 today,
and check out the MW 1000 home page too.
