Geneva based International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) announced the immediate suspension of the IEC National Committee of Iran.  The suspension applies to the Institute of Standards & Industrial Research of Iran (ISIRI) which participates in IEC’s Conformity Assessment Systems.  Iran is the second country to have been suspended by IECEE. Last week the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) issued a Safety and Health Information Bulletin (SHIB) that stresses the importance of using electrical and other equipment certified by Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories (NRTLs) in workplaces.
