Joseph Eaves, Director, Government Relations, NEMA
As part of the 2017 suite of strategic initiatives recently approved by its Board of Governors, NEMA will work with states to increase the use of NEMA member products as a means for states to comply with the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Clean Power Plan.
Since the EPA announced the rule more than two years ago, NEMA and its members have been involved in shaping it. The next step will commence in 2017 when a working group will be formed to evaluate and select several target states. The goal is to have them create model plans that include NEMA-supported policies and pathways that use energy efficiency as a key path to compliance.
