What’s the big idea? At the Medical Imaging & Technology Alliance (MITA), improving business for 55 members in the medical imaging ecosystem is big. As one of MITA’s 10 staff members, I am fortunate to work alongside MITA’s members on the technical front and run MITA’s internal operations.
Precipitated by this age of digital technology, cybersecurity and interoperability are among the issues daily confronting MITA members. Charged with overseeing MITA’s digital health initiatives, the Medical Imaging Informatics (MII) Section assists IT manufacturers in assessing and managing security risks to ensure the safe exchange of healthcare information. I enjoy these challenges.
I also staff the Computed Radiography/Digital Radiography Group within the X-ray Section. It oversees electronic medical imaging devices that produce diagnostic medical images from plane x-ray exposures.
MITA’s preferred future is for medical imaging to drive effective care through screening, diagnosis, and treatment. That’s a big idea to which I am a proud contributor!Read the August 2016 issue of electroindustry.
