IPEX USA Plant Manager Kevin Sopoliga demonstrates the manufacturing process to Congresswoman Candace Miller (R-MI). The facility makes pipes, valves, fittings, and auxiliary components.

In order to encourage communication between members of Congress and NEMA manufacturers, NEMA staff contacted senators and representatives about visiting member companies during the summer recess and into the fall. The response has been overwhelming, with more than 100 offices expressing interest in learning more about the NEMA members in their districts.

The congressional tour season is well underway, and the effort is ongoing. The NEMA government relations team has built on last year’s success and has had even more tours booked this year, some highlights of which appear here.

Representative Dave Loebsack (D-IA) visited Siemens. Pictured are Group Lead Chad Lamborn, Plant Manager Tony McDowell, Congressman Loebsack, and LEP Specialist Alan Hanks.
